Johns Hopkins Security Update Well, I was hoping this would make it to the
Daily Incident
Report, but it didn't. On Saturday, Bill needed to get into a building
to do some work, but it was locked. A girl walked out of the building, and Bill
took advantage of the opportunity to enter before the door closed. A bit of a
role-reversal from his character in "Spare
Change." But it's not only Zach's character's action that Bill took
on. Bill now has the look. If any of you have seen him in the past year or so,
you know what I mean. The girl who opened the door saw Bill enter, and called
her boyfriend to tell him that a scary-looking guy had entered the building. The
boyfriend then called JHU
Security, who searched Clark Hall for a scary-looking white male
wearing a t-shirt. They eventually found The Bill, and took him to the
boyfriend, who was apparently apologetic to the point that Bill "almost felt bad
for him."
Yet another funny Google ad WCHL? I tried to listen to Sarah's show tonight, but
it seems that WHCL no longer has
an online
feed. Ugh.
Vocal Chords on WJHU Mohak (real person, real name) called me to
tonight to let me know that the JHU
Vocal Chords were about to perform live on WJHU — Hopkins Student
Radio. Even though she called just a couple minutes before the
performance, I was able to connect to the stream, fire up Audio Hijack, and
load the iTunes preset to
record the performance for them. Also, based on my buddy list, I'd say that I'm
blogging this before they even got back from the studio! Anyway, here's a
recording of their performance, to prove that I'm
awesome:
Please note that the distortion is NOT my fault; somebody wasn't watching the levels at WJHU. I'll go to the Spring Concert, (I'll pause for a moment here while the members recover from shock.) but I don't think I'll be listening to the technical inadequacy of WJHU anymore, especially since the DJ denied my request for the Vocal Chords to perform "Oh, KitchCo!" for me. I'd also like to note that due to my limited bandwidth, I had to pause my downloads of about 25 video clips I'm using for a film project in order to get a stable stream from the station. Yeah, I was able to resume them a few minutes later, but still, that's over five minutes of sacrifice from The Wysz as another gift to the Vocal Chords. His generosity over the years has been rewarded with two brownies, a glass of water, and a jingle for his movie. Memories Skier Wysz (5:02:30 PM):
remember when we destroyed the
fence, and the teachers finally found out on the last day of fifth
grade?
eightman1984 (5:02:36 PM): hahahahaha yeah eightman1984 (5:02:41 PM): I was thinking about that the other day Skier Wysz (5:03:04 PM): and you and steve cooke and aaron got in trouble, but i just slipped away as they were coming, because i'm all covert-like eightman1984 (5:03:11 PM): haha yeah Skier Wysz (5:03:16 PM): ah those were the days eightman1984 (5:03:18 PM): I had to bring out the water works to get out of trouble Skier Wysz (5:03:23 PM): lol Skier Wysz (5:03:32 PM): fifth grade was awesome. we did absolutely nothing Skier Wysz (5:03:47 PM): "umm we're going to have uh, free reading time, kids" Skier Wysz (5:04:16 PM): which meant "we don't care if you roll up those little carpet samples and hit each other while making sound effect from star wars" After reprimanding Brendan for using paragraphs of centered text on the Vocal Chords page parec02 (2:02:17 AM):
good call on the history page. the old
page was devoid of content and was comprised of that graphic and one line of
text. i forgot to revise the layout once text actually went
up
Skier Wysz (2:02:17 AM): reading or something Skier Wysz (2:02:45 AM): yeah excuses excuses, i'm awesome parec02 (2:03:03 AM): like you've never centered your text Skier Wysz (2:03:11 AM): show me Skier Wysz (2:03:23 AM): show me inappropriately centered text on HOTW Skier Wysz (2:04:14 AM): did you hear your WJHU thing parec02 (2:04:24 AM): no, mo said you recorded it? Skier Wysz (2:04:42 AM): yeah, i recorded the stream but you guys were really distorted Skier Wysz (2:04:55 AM): not my fault though, it was coming in like that Skier Wysz (2:05:26 AM): someone wasn't watching the meters in the studio Skier Wysz (2:05:33 AM): you peaked out like crazy parec02 (2:05:54 AM): it was just the two djs in the room. don't know if they know what it means to peak Skier Wysz (2:06:07 AM): well they ought to be slapped parec02 (2:06:08 AM): crap, even your cake page doesn't have paragraphs of centered text Cake page After reprimanding Brendan for using paragraphs of centered text on the Vocal Chords page UPDATE parec02 (2:27:00 AM):
what's funny is that the one djs with the
headphones in front of the sound board kept looking over and nodding like
everything was great
Johns Hopkins Security Update: Students Respond. Reneelet (4:50:46 PM):
next time i see bill, i'll
def. ask my bf to call
security
Stowington (5:03:28 PM): I've seen that same scary white guy sneaking around my apartment building Another funny name parec02 (2:45:47 AM):
talk to yahnatan, it's his
fault
Skier Wysz (2:45:58 AM): oh like i'm gonna fall for that Skier Wysz (2:46:04 AM): giving me a fake name Ugh, Jonathan Stowingtons responds s'more after I've already made the "Students Respond" entry Stowington (5:09:35 PM):
he definitely would have stolen
something if security hadn't come
by
Skier Wysz (5:10:21 PM): yeah, you know bill and his insatiable need for posessions Stowington (5:10:42 PM): he has more shoes than anyone else I know Stowington (5:11:34 PM): actually that should probably say "he has more duct tape on his shoes than anyone else I know" Friday, February 25, 2005 More photos courtesy of Jonathan Stowingtons. Art by The Bill. The next
day...
![]() TROG + DOOR = AWESOME ![]() Ughghghghghggghghhhghhgghghhghghghhggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh The ONE time I wake up and say, "Nah, I don't
need to turn on my computer," I get an important email. I walked all the way
from my apartment to my Internet class (104 W. University to Shaffer Hall, if
you're familiar with the area) this morning just to find a few other poor
students who hadn't checked their email either. One had even rushed up from D.C.
to make the class. We went to the lab to confirm our suspicions, and learned
that an email had been sent out at 9:39, less than an hour before our 10:30
class.
And I was really looking forward to the weekly quiz! "Ughghghghghggghghhhghhgghghhghghghhggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" could have been prevented! Reneelet (11:03:58 AM):
lol i sent him a message
around 10:00
Reneelet (11:04:19 AM): that if he saw you trying to wake up, he shouldnt let you because class is canceled Skier Wysz (11:04:28 AM): hmm maybe he wasn't here Skier Wysz (11:04:31 AM): did he respond+ Reneelet (11:04:55 AM): no, but bill never responds+ to me. he usually doesnt respond. or sometimes he responds- Giving credit where credit is... due? Skier Wysz (6:28:32 PM):
thank you for the
iphotos
Stowington (6:29:19 PM): aren't they great? Skier Wysz (6:29:51 PM): umm, they're on the blog, you know what that means Stowington (6:32:10 PM): part of the art was mine Stowington (6:32:26 PM): I did the burninated peasant and the trogdoor Thursday, February 24, 2005 Today in "Internet," I: 1. Passed a note for the first time I can
remember. We weren't caught.
2. Learned that one should always use non-breaking spaces in proper names. If your name has ever experienced a line break through the fault of my ignorance, I apologize. Option-space on a Mac will do it for you. Google it if you're on a PC. Snow pictures After noticing that several cars had things
written on them, we decided to write stuff on my
Jeep:
![]() Bill wrote "AWESOME" on the back window, but we don't have a picture of that. We do, however, have a picture of my symbol: ![]() Photo credit: John Stowe Wysz appears on Vocal Chords's's's O's front page! Another stupid entry The Oh
well entry was a Site Announcement, wasn't it?
Oh well I guess I could have blogged the Vocal
Chords entry in the "Music" category. Oh well.
WUSA 9 leaks iPod shuffle name...? Nah. csvroomfondel (1:50:51
PM): ha, one of the news guys said "that
shuffle thing is cool" and the other guy goes "oh yea, was it fun? That's a
great
thing."
csvroomfondel (1:51:05 PM): he quite clearly has no idea what the first guy was talking about csvroomfondel (1:51:13 PM): probably thinks its some dance or something Skier Wysz (1:53:43 PM): but Skier Wysz (1:53:49 PM): that was from december csvroomfondel (1:54:19 PM): oh, i didnt see the date on the newscast csvroomfondel (1:55:00 PM): maybe it is a dance Skier Wysz (1:56:03 PM): maybe he means the "shuffle" function? Skier Wysz (1:56:23 PM): or was it a reference to something earlier in the newscast, that's not included in the clip? csvroomfondel (1:56:28 PM): that's been around since the days of the CD, nothing to get excited over Good long quote. muzikgoddss (2:13:05 PM):
do you think they're going to cancel class
tonight?
Skier Wysz (2:13:15 PM): i hope so Skier Wysz (2:13:19 PM): i mean Skier Wysz (2:13:27 PM): i hope they cancel the class Skier Wysz (2:13:38 PM): but i hope we can still see each other muzikgoddss (2:13:48 PM): hahaha muzikgoddss (2:13:52 PM): actually... muzikgoddss (2:14:00 PM): you can! muzikgoddss (2:14:09 PM): vocal chords are performing at xando's Skier Wysz (2:14:25 PM): i KNEW it would be a scheme to get me to see the vocal chords Skier Wysz (2:14:31 PM): isn't xando's far away muzikgoddss (2:14:38 PM): it's by homewood muzikgoddss (2:14:47 PM): HAHAHAHA muzikgoddss (2:16:47 PM): fine Skier Wysz (2:16:58 PM): ugh what time is the thing muzikgoddss (2:17:05 PM): you don't have to go muzikgoddss (2:17:07 PM): really Skier Wysz (2:17:12 PM): WHAT TIME muzikgoddss (2:17:14 PM): 10 or 1015 muzikgoddss (2:17:20 PM): but you really have to go muzikgoddss (2:17:25 PM): dont' have to* Skier Wysz (2:17:30 PM): haha Skier Wysz (2:17:38 PM): well which one do you suggest, the 10 or the 10:15 muzikgoddss (2:17:46 PM): well we're starting around then muzikgoddss (2:17:56 PM): so i guess be there at 10, if you want to come muzikgoddss (2:18:01 PM): again, you're no obligation Skier Wysz (2:18:09 PM): what if i come at 10:15? muzikgoddss (2:18:11 PM): we can just see each other next thursday Skier Wysz (2:18:14 PM): and what's with your typing muzikgoddss (2:18:21 PM): i'm talking to my suitemate Skier Wysz (2:18:27 PM): so are you going to the movie if it's not cancelled muzikgoddss (2:18:31 PM): i can't talk and type two different convos at the same time muzikgoddss (2:18:38 PM): why wouldn't i Skier Wysz (2:18:53 PM): i don't know, don't you have to warm up or something muzikgoddss (2:19:04 PM): well we're warming up at 920 muzikgoddss (2:19:11 PM): so class should be over around then muzikgoddss (2:20:43 PM): oh i forgot "under" muzikgoddss (2:20:50 PM): you're under no obligation muzikgoddss (2:21:04 PM): from about 3min ago muzikgoddss (2:21:46 PM): so yeah muzikgoddss (2:21:50 PM): you dont have to come Skier Wysz (2:22:24 PM): i hate this reverse psychology muzikgoddss (2:22:36 PM): i'm not doing reverse psychology! muzikgoddss (2:22:37 PM): really! muzikgoddss (2:22:42 PM): we're only singing 3 songs muzikgoddss (2:22:48 PM): and it's far away from uni west Skier Wysz (2:22:53 PM): is one of them mahna mahna? muzikgoddss (2:23:02 PM): what muzikgoddss (2:23:04 PM): no Skier Wysz (2:23:12 PM): is one of them "feet's too big"? muzikgoddss (2:23:16 PM): no Skier Wysz (2:23:28 PM): then what are you singing muzikgoddss (2:23:57 PM): "call me", "she will be loved", "good vibrations" muzikgoddss (2:25:12 PM): so you really don't have to come Skier Wysz (2:25:44 PM): good vibrations is good Skier Wysz (2:25:55 PM): i think it was up for a grammy or something Skier Wysz (2:26:12 PM): i saw the beach boys in concert once muzikgoddss (2:26:17 PM): really Skier Wysz (2:26:23 PM): and so did meghan, but you don't know her muzikgoddss (2:26:28 PM): no muzikgoddss (2:29:29 PM): so are you coming? Skier Wysz (2:30:27 PM): i wouldn't miss it for the world muzikgoddss (2:30:31 PM): hahahaha Skier Wysz (2:32:41 PM): do you have the performance rights for those songs muzikgoddss (2:32:58 PM): i dont know Skier Wysz (2:33:09 PM): if you don't i'm telling muzikgoddss (2:33:44 PM): if you tell on us you have to tell on every a cappella group Skier Wysz (2:33:58 PM): if that's what it takes muzikgoddss (2:34:11 PM): don't come Only 2! Skier Wysz (1:32:29 AM):
you need to help me with the blog
entry re: 13/only 2!/me standing inappropriately close/would you like to stay
for the show?
would you mind just recalling the incident, so i can post it as one long quote? Stowington (1:34:44 AM): what like an ohh man that was so cool kinda deal? Skier Wysz (1:36:44 AM): whatever you think would work for the blog Here we go: Stowington (2:14:40 AM): well you left us to "say our goodbyes," I believe you said, and there were some drunk people out in the street Stowington (2:15:35 AM): they were talking pretty loud, but I wasn't listening at first... we were watching you stand on the sidewalk with your hands behind your back, being very patient and attentive watching them Skier Wysz (2:15:59 AM): (and my proximity to them...) Stowington (2:16:21 AM): yes you were very close Stowington (2:16:25 AM): within 15 feet I'd say Stowington (2:16:35 AM): very obvious to anyone who was even close to sober Stowington (2:16:52 AM): the first thing I remember actually listening to was when the guy said "does he know it's been going on for two weeks now?" Skier Wysz (2:17:17 AM): ... Stowington (2:17:44 AM): then the girl said "it's been three weeks!" Stowington (2:17:54 AM): we thought that was pretty funny Stowington (2:19:14 AM): I had my back turned so it wouldn't be so obvious we were listening, but you definitely were... so we were actually laughing at the combination of the drunk people soap opera and the wysz watching Stowington (2:19:51 AM): then there was something about not talking about this stuff out on the street... we followed this by watching the wysz still standing on the sidewalk some more Stowington (2:20:01 AM): and you asked a couple that was walking by: Stowington (2:20:11 AM): (that's your cue) Skier Wysz (2:20:20 AM): "would you like to stay for the show?" Skier Wysz (2:21:10 AM): is that the end of the story? Stowington (2:21:12 AM): I don't think they did though Skier Wysz (2:21:17 AM): no they didnt Stowington (2:21:19 AM): their voices started getting louder again so we had to start eavesdropping again Skier Wysz (2:21:44 AM): oh oh oh you need to say the 13/only 2! part Stowington (2:22:20 AM): and then the guy said really loud, "and he doesn't care that you've hooked up with, like, 13 guys since then?" and started to walk away Stowington (2:22:32 AM): and she yelled after him Stowington (2:22:36 AM): "only two!" Stowington (2:23:06 AM): and I lost it, I started cracking up out loud Stowington (2:24:06 AM): anyway mohak got me calmed down just in time for her to walk by us and into mccoy Stowington (2:24:06 AM): show's over folks Skier Wysz (2:24:58 AM): haha yes just to clarify, "her" refers to drunk "only 2!" girl, who i pointed to and said "shhh!" because we were talking about her Stowington (2:25:04 AM): the best part was you so obviously watching them from the curb Skier Wysz (2:25:28 AM): haha i dont know, my favorite is still "only 2!" Skier Wysz (2:25:33 AM): and you were watching too Skier Wysz (2:25:38 AM): just not as blatently Stowington (2:25:51 AM): yes but the blatant part is key Skier Wysz (2:26:22 AM): true Stowington (2:30:52 AM): (that was a subtle correction of your spelling error) Skier Wysz (2:31:18 AM): whoops Tuesday, February 22, 2005 Po Mo HOTW The next version of the blog will be pretty much
the same, but with quotes:
Wysz's "Thoughts" version "Awesome" or something like that. I'm still working on it. On the air! When I went to the Bethesda Row
Apple Store opening, someone asked for a copy of my footage to give to
WUSA Channel 9 in DC. Well, I
just found out that it actually
did
make it on the air! Here's the
article, and here's a
direct link to the video of 'Like Them Apples.' It's encoded in
Windows Media Player. If anyone can convert it to a QuickTime file for me, let
me know and we'll set up a file
transfer.
I don't actually appear in the video, but all of the squished footage (I was shooting in widescreen) was shot by me. Easily amused, easily flattered A girl referred to me as "your hot self." That
happened early yesterday, but I'm going to be riding this high for a while
longer.
Just what I needed to get me going again The new SBEMAIL is
finally up, at #125. I'm working on a "Lost and Found Film" project right now,
and if you watch the email, you'll see why it came at a convenient time. Now if
only I can incorporate it into my "Capturing Sound" paper...
For those of you who have been keeping track of my away messages, yes, I finally did got my photos done. Reneelet (10:08:02 AM):
did you finally got your photos
done?
Skier Wysz (10:08:37 AM): that's a horrible attempt at an english sentence, but yes, and i smeared them like crazy, although i might be able to wash them Monday, February 21, 2005 Note To Self Email that guy about the thing, and then edit
that other thing, and write the paper.
I really should be getting to bed, but I was checking homestarrunner.com one last
time for an update, and when I moused over the logo (museum) graphic, I heard
the famous "Email!" sound in Homestar's voice. Even though it was perfectly in
sync with my mouse-over action, the two events were not related. The sound was
coming from Mail, to let me know that I had a new email. It was an iTunes
receipt.
Parking on University Parkway I came out of my building this morning to find
this VW kissing my bumper. It wasn't a tight spot; in fact, there is no parking
allowed behind the VW because it is a bus stop. I guess my Jeep is just
irresistible, like
me.
![]() While it is quite obvious that there is no parking allowed directly behind the VW, it is not clear just how extensive this no parking zone really is (or why it is so extensive.) At first glance, it looks like a simple bus stop. The insets show detail of each sign. I'm not sure what's up with the one on the left; it looks like it was painted over, but the head of the arrow pointing towards the right remains unobscured. ![]() Here's what the bus stop looks like as you pull up to it in a car, looking for a space: ![]() However, you must look carefully, because behind you the sign has a two-way arrow! That's right, even though the bus stop sign indicates that you simply cannot park further down the street, this sign shows that you can't park above it either. ![]() The mysterious sign is easily forgotten as you pass it, because once you see the bus stop sign, it looks like you have a legal place to park, since it only has the unidirectional arrow. To add to the confusion, the two-way sign disappeared for several weeks recently, making the area a legal parking spot that people got used to. In fact, people still park there every single day, either because they are used to it, or they got confused by the signs. And every single day on my way to or from class, I see cars with tickets. This has been going on for several weeks. So far I've only been able to catch one couple trying to park there and warn them about the tickets. ![]() Here's a wide view of the problem area, right outside of the First Church of Christ, Scientist. Why there is no parking allowed there, I do not know. They even have their own parking lot. ![]() It looks like the Baltimore City Police Department has trouble parking too, and resorts to parking on top of moving vehicles. When you've received an unfair ticket from them (they put up temporary no parking signs and ticketed me with no advanced warning), sights like this make you feel good. ![]() Snow day? eightman1984 (2:30:31
PM): you did have off today
right?
Skier Wysz (2:30:45 PM): no Skier Wysz (2:30:56 PM): well i dont know Skier Wysz (2:31:05 PM): i woke up 5 minutes ago eightman1984 (2:31:08 PM): haha Skier Wysz (2:31:09 PM): let me see eightman1984 (2:31:18 PM): I figured you would probably have presidents day off Skier Wysz (2:31:38 PM): no colleges dont have presidents day off Skier Wysz (2:31:44 PM): its a big college visit weekend Skier Wysz (2:31:48 PM): they dont want a dead campus eightman1984 (2:31:54 PM): hmm valid point eightman1984 (2:32:01 PM): well, we should have off Skier Wysz (2:32:02 PM): nope no snow day Sunday, February 20, 2005 Ted wins again 79-65 vs. Arkansas.
Random acting I know it's weird, but sometimes I
pretend
to be using my cell phone. Once, for no good reason, I walked around outside
having a fake conversation with someone about some business issues. Earlier this
year, I wanted to keep some facts straight for a blog entry, so I called and
left myself a voicemail. I was passing other people as I did this, so I
pretended to be having a conversation with another person. Sometimes if I'm
waiting around somewhere and want to avoid conversation, I'll pretend to be text
messaging or checking emails on my phone, even though I don't really do either
of those.
Tonight I actually pretended to be listening to my iPod on the way to the location where I would pretend to use my cell phone. This time, I pretended to check my voicemail. Hey, man, you gonna eat that last congraturation? This went unblogged long enough. For the past couple of weeks, entries that have
not yet been crawled by Google, which usually default to blogging ads, have been
displaying links to kayak websites. I'm still not sure which entry prompted
this. If you have any ideas, let me
know.
![]() Don't mind this entry We're trying to figure out what is going on with
the feed in a specific build of NNW, so I'm just gonna use
this test entry to give Tony [link
removed!], Blake, and
Chris a link.
Sharing sucks. All of the dryers are full. They weren't running
when I started my laundry, and only one washer was going when I did, so they
must have been finished before I even started. This is why I don't like
people.
Chain reaction Thanks to the delay in laundering, I got to the
photo lab's building when it was locked, and now I have to wait until they open
it in the morning and hope that nobody is using the
lab.
I had to walk there in the freezing rain for nothing. Have iTunes song credits to burn? By now I'm sure you've all seen the famous "Numa Numa" dance
video on the Internet. if you can't get the song out of your head, I
suggest downloading it from iTunes. I've downloaded both the original
and the remix.
Now I'm off to download these
remixes.
Ah, college kids Pez Man40 (1:18:07 AM):
sorry i had to go watch a syrup chugging
competition
I'm just being honest Skier Wysz (2:45:42 AM):
maybe i will go down on my spring
break
Pez Man40 (2:45:47 AM): when is that Skier Wysz (2:46:05 AM): sometime in march Skier Wysz (2:46:10 AM): i know you have some basketball thing Skier Wysz (2:46:17 AM): but looks like you'll get out of it early Skier Wysz (2:46:24 AM): so that should work in our favor Skier Wysz (2:46:45 AM): depending on my schedule you may have to throw a game or two though Dork anthonut (1:34:59 AM):
I've been mesmerized the past few minutes
letting my screen stay in exposé mini
windows.
anthonut (1:35:05 AM): and watching them update One way to end the conversation Skier Wysz (2:47:48 AM):
wait
Skier Wysz (2:47:51 AM): one second Skier Wysz (2:47:53 AM): hold on Skier Wysz (2:47:55 AM): almost there Skier Wysz (2:48:05 AM): i'm awesome. good night. The link has been removed Skier Wysz (1:36:57 AM):
ok new entry with links coming
up
anthonut (1:37:23 AM): nice, just don't link to my blog as it is blank right now. I need to write an entry of my own. Skier Wysz (1:37:58 AM): haha whoops anthonut (1:38:18 AM): somehow I feel clairvoyant Saturday, February 19, 2005 I can whistle and hum at the same time. My cousin taught me that one.
Friday, February 18, 2005 Be back tomorrow I'm headed off to D.C., but I just
had
to blog the fact that I used a Newton today. I
tested out its handwriting recognition, and it got everything I wrote correct.
Of course I only wrote "Michael," but still, it was impressive. My brief
experience indicated that it is still far better than any other PDA that's been
on the market, even today. Gotta run.

Susan Page, USA TODAY Why was it snowing today? According to weather.com, it's 42° in
Baltimore right now, and it's been like that all
day.
Yes, I do realize that it is funny I had to go on the Internet to learn how warm it was outside. I don't have a thermometer here. It would be stolen and somehow used for drugs. Things I've been meaning to blog, but probably won't get around to for a while 1. A picture of a catering truck parked outside
of Tyrone's Fried Chicken in Baltimore. On the truck, and this is an exact
quote, "Parties, funerals, weddings, etc." Only in
Baltimore.
2. A picture of a door on campus with a sign mounted on it that says "DOOR PERMANENTLY LOCKED." John on Facebook Turns out I type like Ted too Skier Wysz (12:19:50 AM):
i'm guessing you weren't the vandy
ted in your profile

chemicals I'm not allowed to drink. Using my J-Card to enter was probably the
best part; now I just need to figure out how to get building access. I had to
ask a custodian to open the exterior door for me.

Monday, February 14, 2005 First a Super Bowl entry, now a Valentine's Day entry? Ugh, what have I become? Ted has a fan club known as "Ted's Tyrants." Many
of you already know this. What you probably don't know is that they have become
significantly more creepy recently, at least for Valentine's Day. Yesterday, he
received this Valentine from them. The guys in the picture are actual members of
Ted's Tyrants.
I just found out that in addition to this Valentine stunt, the group also published a Valentine's Day letter to Ted in the school paper. It told him how proud they are of his development as a basketball player, and ended it with, "We love you, like that." Fame doesn't come without a cost. If any of you kids have a Thefacebook account... Make sure you're logged in, then click here.
Foolproof update I've been working on getting Foolproof some
publicity lately, because that's what you're supposed to do after you make a
film and you can't think of an idea for your next
one.
First, I mailed it to a couple of film festivals that my professor suggested. I haven't heard back from them, but they haven't cashed my checks yet, so I think I still have a chance. Next, I created a separate page for the movie, with really hot insider info, such as which type of film I used. This past weekend, I submitted it to J-Stream, the Hopkins Streaming Media Network. There's some other cool stuff on there (at least I thought this was funny) if you're bored and want to check it out. Broadband is totally required, so if you're that guy out in Idaho who still has dial-up, you're out of luck. And finally, I mailed my tape to iFilm today. I don't even go to that site anymore, but I figure it's a free submission and they have a large audience, so why not. Those of you who are new to iFilm, just trust me when I tell you that it used to be good. Several years ago, back in the days of 405 and The Killer Bean 2, it was all free, you could download high res versions of the films, and there was no registration. Now, there are ads everywhere, you have to sit through a commercial to watch anything, it's all streaming, and the high quality streams are for subscribers only. Oh well. Maybe I should have waited until AFTER they premiere my film before posting this... Re: Foolproof update ShkenBlke2 (7:57:24 PM):
that guy in Idaho w/ dial up is

Skier Wysz (11:52:22 PM): oh good wrong window csvroomfondel (11:52:26 PM): hooray for ted I really thought I could avoid having a Super Bowl entry One of my friends, who is apparently determined
to travel the world and then some before she turns 25, is doing the "Semester at
Sea" program, where students live and take classes on a ship while traveling to
different countries. Well, it didn't get off to a great start. They had rough
seas from the beginning, heading out into the Pacific on their way to Asia. Like
many of the students she got sick, and lots of students weren't even going to
class. Then, to make things worse, they got hit
by a huge wave.
Well, she's now "stranded" in Hawaii, and when I talked to her online tonight for the first time since all this craziness happened, she felt awful. Well, with all she went through, who could blame her? But it wasn't the sickness or the wave that she was the most upset about. She was crushed by the Eagles loss. I had to remind her that she had just been involved in a national news story before she would talk about it. Eagles fans are crazy. Ouch "When her roommate, Christine McAuliffe of
Lansdale, stood up, she flew across the cabin and hit the
door."
Link Sunday, February 06, 2005 AppleCare Hours ![]() 8:00 Central is the same as 9:00 Eastern, right? And why would they list Central time for the U.S. anyway? There are four people in the Central Time Zone in the U.S., and only two of them have phones, can read, and know how to tell time. Of these two, only one has a computer, and he didn't buy AppleCare. while waiting to arrive at one's destination. My professor said that many times
someone will get on the phone and ask if he's okay. Once, an outside caller was
connected to the elevator, and according to my professor, was "quite upset" that
he wouldn't transfer her to the engineering department, even after he explained
that he was in an elevator.
Now I have to find out what that extension is... The Faithful Viewer Strikes Again Eh, Steve! “quint55” is

Since I quoted Blake's wall, why not Eh, Steve's? You think you're so cool just because you have a
friend on Facebook who goes to Harvard. You know what? Harvard isn't even a real
country. Neither is Johns Hopkins. It's some guy's name. But Chad, now that's a
real country, and I went to school with a guy named Chad. I don't think it's the
name of a college, though, at least not in America, but I've forgotten what my
point was anyway, if I even had one at all.
Oh, and P.S. when I click on Harvard, it finds no results. Turns out you were lying all along. Okay, P.P.S.— The person who wrote on your wall before me, Stephanie Tung, is supposedly from Harvard. Well, I clicked on her name, and she doesn't even exist. You lead a sad life. Making people up like that...... pathetic. Mac OS Awesome anthonut (7:33:05 PM):
So do you think AtAT will move to an Aqua
based look anytime
soon?
Skier Wysz (7:33:49 PM): i think they're waiting for steve to say "the transition to os x is finally over" just one more time anthonut (7:33:59 PM): hehehe Skier Wysz (7:34:06 PM): i think he said that for 3 keynotes in a row anthonut (7:34:28 PM): did he say it this last time? Skier Wysz (7:34:42 PM): umm i dont think so, the last time was probably wwdc anthonut (7:35:03 PM): So I guess now it will be the transition to Tiger has begun Skier Wysz (7:35:25 PM): haha anthonut (7:35:58 PM): I also wonder what they will name the next OS. I'm thinking that they will take some time to develop OS XI or something like that. Skier Wysz (7:36:41 PM): yeah they are going to go all the way to 10.9 just to avoid the naming issue Skier Wysz (7:37:02 PM): of course i would be willing to license the concept of v.Awesome anthonut (7:38:17 PM): haha anthonut (7:38:29 PM): I mean the X thing has appeal, but it does have its limitations Skier Wysz (7:39:21 PM): yeah, i bet there are marketing people who lose sleep over this kind of stuff Skier Wysz (7:39:48 PM): they really shot themselves in the foot with the X Skier Wysz (7:40:00 PM): seemed like a great idea at the time i'm sure Skier Wysz (7:40:15 PM): but it would have been a lot easier from them to go from 10 to 11 with digits anthonut (7:41:00 PM): exactly. I wonder if they will get away from numbers completely. Skier Wysz (7:41:28 PM): like i said, i'm open to the idea of v.awesome anthonut (7:42:01 PM): MacOS IG (insanely great) would probably be more likely. Skier Wysz (7:42:13 PM): lol but that would be too final Skier Wysz (7:42:24 PM): then they could never have a successor Thursday, February 03, 2005 JHU Building Names Some (un)original building names on Homewood

Add Flash to your website, and people will take you seriously Stowington (5:50:11 PM):
I was impressed by this flash
presentation and I now think of this company as being much more
professional
Stowington (5:50:13 PM): http://computracepersonal.absolute.com/CTPresentation.htm Stowington (5:50:19 PM): artistic skills.... astounding Stowington (5:52:20 PM): in fact, they are far beyond mere "skills" Stowington (5:52:38 PM): they are more properly referred to as "skillz" Skier Wysz (5:52:46 PM): why do the phones in this animation look like wads of money Stowington (5:53:39 PM): obviously we're not smart enough to understand the artistic significance of the money-wad phones Skier Wysz (5:53:51 PM): ah Productive already. Skier Wysz (6:02:52 PM):
so i was just in Terminal, and by
way of habit i hit the up arrow to go to the beginning of the line to fix
something, but that caused it to start going through the previous commands. the
one right after my last "logout" command was "i'll syntax your
error!"
Stowington (6:03:27 PM): oh my Skier Wysz (6:04:14 PM): yeah, in any case, the safari debug menu is up and running, so i feel even geekier now Stowington (6:05:30 PM): so now this semester has been productive Wednesday, February 02, 2005 Win! Tennessee:

Vandy: 67 67 is more than 62. Ted got 4 points and played 24 minutes. He also had more points and shots than fouls, but missed his free throws, because he's a big fat loser. And he wants to go to med school When we were about 10 years old, plus or minus a
year or so, I was eating dinner with Blake and his family when we discovered
that he didn't know how to spell his first name. That was awesome. Plus, if I
remember correctly, the restaurant had fish tanks, so that was
cool.
This isn't one of those blogs that just links to other articles, but this one was too good to pass up Wired News:
