Are you open or not?

Abstract:
Sodexho complaint.

Body:
I went to the cafeteria for the first time in a while today, and ran into the same problem that I've been having with it for a while. According to their website, it "is open non-stop from 7 am to 8 pm Monday through Friday and 10 am to 8 pm on the weekends." Now, one would assume that a cafeteria which is open "non-stop" will be serving food non-stop as well. One would also assume that if they swipe your card when you get there, which essentially means you are paying them, you are pretty much guaranteed to find food when you enter. I know I've told this story before, but this time it's better. Usually I simply enter to find no food (except for maybe half a salad bar and some cereal), get mad, and leave. This time, which was just before 5:00, by the way, a perfectly normal time for one to eat, I entered and saw that they had pasta sitting out. Now I knew from a previous experience that I wasn't allowed to serve myself, so I asked one of the staff for some pasta. He said that they weren't open, and didn't give me any food, which was sitting right in front of us. I asked what time they did open, and he ignored me and walked away to go chat with one of the other workers who was busy doing nothing. Now I have nothing against the people who work there, in fact most of them are friendlier than anyone else you'll meet on this campus, but I didn't recognize anyone there today, and nobody seemed to be doing anything. I filled out a comment card asking them to learn the difference between "open" and "closed" and posted it on the board. I'll check for a response later and let you know what they said.
