Cool Apple Patent

So I don't usually play the rumor game with my blog since there are already about 8,000 other blogs doing the same thing, but I wanted to comment on an Apple patent that was mentioned today on Engadget and had been previously reported on MacRumors.

My first thought was, hasn't this been done before? I received about 10 forwarded emails about this technology in a single week back at the turn of the century when it became popular. I don't think I even had (or needed) a spam folder back then. Those were the days.

I just wonder if we'll ever get to see this technology in use. What ever happened to Chameleon?
