Google Video Search


Abstract:
Those who know me well know that I hate it when people butcher quotes. Google's new tool should help you to avoid my wrath.

Body:
My newest toy is Google Video Search. Like most Google features (or so it seems), it is in beta. Hey, that's what happens when you innovate. It indexes the closed captioning of television programs, and associates the text with images, times, channels, and programs. I just realized that as its database grows, it will be the ultimate source for finding that exact quote from a TV show or movie that's been broadcast. Right now you can only find stuff that's aired since late December 2004, but after a full season of indexing and a few more channels, I think this feature will really grow in popularity and utility.
