Delaying laundry by one more day
Abstract:
Who needs a ticket?
Body:
As a student, I get one free ticket to the
Hopkins lacrosse game on Saturday against
The Entire State of
Virginia. At least that's what Brendan told
me. Normally, I wouldn't be interested in such an offer, but by picking up a
ticket for this game, I was also entitled to... a free t-shirt! So, I went to
the athletic center and got the ticket and the shirt. The shirt has so far
impressed me in four ways:
1. It's
free.
2. It's
blue.
3. It says, "THE NEST" on the front,
and I don't know what this means. I guess it is referring to the nest of the
Blue Jay, our mascot, but I'm not sure. In any case, it's cool to have a shirt
that says something you don't understand. Speaking of our mascot, I wonder if we
actually have a guy who dresses up as a Blue Jay. I might actually go to the
game just to find out.
4. The back of it is a
huge Pepsi logo. Most highbrow college students would likely scoff at such
imagery, but I really like Pepsi, I don't have a problem with most advertising
(pop-ups, shoot the thing and get an iPod, etc. aside), and I like the idea of
angering hippie liberal intellectuals. Especially the ones who always wear
sandals.
If anyone would like to see
Saturday's game of the #1 ranked Johns Hopkins Blue Jays vs. second-ranked
Virginia Cavaliers, let me know, as I have a ticket to get rid of. I'll sell you
my parking space too. The game is at Homewood Field (Hopkins) on Saturday, March
26, at 1:00.
