Playing the rumor game - iTunes Movie StoreAbstract: Is Apple Computer ready to sell
movies?
iTunes Movie Store? iFlicks? iWatch? Apple Movie Store? Body: You may have been seeing some stories going
around the net about the www.apple.com/movies URL
yielding a 403 (Forbidden) error instead of Apple's 404 (Page Not Found) page.
I've found blog
entries about it dating back to March, so this isn't exactly
new.
Here's what I've found in my 4.5 minutes of research: Some media files for some of Apple's QuickTime content, such as movie trailers and the HD Gallery, are contained in the following directories: movies.apple.com/movies/ images.apple.com/movies/ Going to the root of each of the directories usually results in a redirect to www.apple.com/trailers/, but I found that a few times movies.apple.com/movies/ actually redirected me to the mysterious www.apple.com/movies/, 403 error and all. And that's all I know. Posted: Thursday - September 15, 2005 at 02:53 PM |
