iLife '05

Abstract:
Geeky confession of excitement about new Apple apps.

Body:
After my lengthy JourneyEd/Adobe complaints, AKA "This is why I don't like people," I figured I should post something happy, but also appropriately geeky. I got to go to the Apple Store in Towson today and buy iLife '05. I mentally prepared myself for the visit by repeating reminders to myself while walking through the mall: "No, I will not buy a Mac mini. No, I will not buy an iPod shuffle. No, I will not buy a 30-inch display. No, I will not buy two 30-inch displays." Don't get me wrong, the Apple salespeople aren't pushy (they don't get commission and I've never been approached with anything other than, "Do you have any questions?"), I just really can't resist Apple products. I know it's pathetic, but it's a fun kind of pathetic.

I had a coupon for $10 off of any purchase $100 or more, so I was able to pick up an iLife Family Pack for 90 bucks, and I'm proud to say that I made it out of the store without buying anything else. I'm going to install it in a few minutes, and I look forward to taking advantage of iPhoto 5's new editing capabilities, especially since I don't have Photoshop. I tried it out in The Computer Forum over the weekend, and it looks pretty impressive. I think I will also be using iDVD now that it has the OneStep DVD feature.
