iChat AV works


Successful test of video chat with iChat AV.

I checked a camera out of the DMC today so I could test iChat AV with Chris. When I got back to my room, Nolan, who is in California, let me know that he is now running Panther. I immediately realized that I could try a cross-country video chat instead of just a cross-campus one. Nolan's camera is being repaired by Sony, but I asked him if he could borrow one. Fortunately, his roommate has one. We were all set to go, except that Nolan didn't have a FireWire cable. Oh well.

Anyway, I did end up testing it with Chris, and it worked without any trouble or configuration. The video quality and frame rate was very good, but of course we were working within the school's network. The real test will be when I leave my camera at home and try it. I will give an update then.
