Breaking News:
If anybody out there has a smurf, email us at pezorg@yahoo.com. If we confirm that it is authentic, we will buy it from you for (U.S.). This includes all Smurf characters. Why so much? Recent investigations revealed that most Smurf Pez in circulation are not authentic Pez products, but are imitations created during the peak of the hit cartoon series in the late 1980's. Pez only produced a small number of Smurfs, fearing the characters would not sell. By the time Smurfs became popular, it was too late for Pez to make more because their contract had expired with the producers of Smurfs. Because there was nothing they could do about it, the makers of Pez did not publicize their knowledge of imitation Smurf products. Information is still hard to find, but we do know some things about the distribution of the products:Due to the value of these products, we will not tell you the exact features that confirm the authenticity of the real products (and we don't even know ourselves.) To see if yours is authentic, email us, and we will work through a contact at Pez to ask you specific questions about your product.
- The bulk of the authentic Pez products were shipped in the East, with high concentrations in Philadelphia, PA, Baltimore, MD, and New York, NY.
- The imitation products are found everywhere else, with high concentrations in San Francisco, CA, Salt Lake City, UT, and Tampa, FL.
